About us

Welcome to the CAMC Vascular Center of Excellence. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians from interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, general surgery and vascular medicine are devoted to providing state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for people with vascular disease.

At the Vascular Center of Excellence we diagnose and treat the full range of noncardiac vascular disorders, those conditions that involve the arteries and veins outside of the heart. Treatments involve proven state-of-the-art therapies, leading edge minimally invasive intervention and, when appropriate, exciting new clinical trials.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology uses images obtained with x-ray and ultrasound to guide minimally invasive therapies.  Interventional Radiology provides treatment for conditions with this minimally invasive approach.

  - Kidney (Renal) Artery Stenting for high blood pressure

Vascular Surgery

Vascular Surgery provides consultation and treatment of all forms of peripheral vascular disease (diseases of the blood vessels outside of the heart). The following services are available:
- Peripheral vascular interventional/surgical procedures
- Thoracic Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, including endoluminal grafting
- Atherectomy (removal of plaque from within an artery)
- Balloon angioplasty
- Bypass grafting
- Embolectomy/thrombectomy (removal of a blood clot)
- Carotid endarterectomy (removal of plaque in the carotid artery)
- Carotid stent-supported angioplasty
- Lower extremity bypass

Interventional Cardiology

Interventional Cardiology provides treatment options for patients with a variety of vascular problems. The following services are a sample of procedures performed::
- Balloon angioplasty
- Insertion of vascular stents
- Laser recanalization (the use of a laser to enlarge the opening in a blood vessel)
- Thrombolysis (treatment of blood clots)
